With New Year's Eve approaching, it gives us a chance to reflect on the year that was. We all measure success in different ways, and it is important to figure out what success looks like. However, it is also important to take stock and look at the things that didn’t go your way and how they can be addressed.
Success feels good. When things go your way, it generates confidence going forward in your process and abilities. It’s important to recognize those successes and measure them. It gives you the chance to ask your clients for feedback which allows them to feel involved and also may reveal more potential opportunities. It also allows for the opportunity to recognize and reward those that made your success happen.
Failures are equally an opportunity. It is often said that you learn more from failures than successes. Each failure is an opportunity to analyze what went wrong and then address the necessary pieces that did not make it successful. Dwelling on the failures, however, is not necessary. Learning from them and moving forward is the important step.
